Watershed Level

As promised, each group, in addition to their own locational data, is responsible for writing up a section of the watershed level (rather the site level) data. Look to the Original Technical report from last year to see what we are referring to:

Groups will be assigned sections as based on your leader (i.e. Monika, Daniel, Jef). That means that Group 1 and 2 are Daniel, Group 3 and 4 are Jef, and Group 5 and 6 are Monika. It is up to you and your group leader to delegate how to do these sections:

  • Introduction (including overview, previous study, Research Goals and Objectives) - MONIKA
  • Stakeholders (watershed alliance of sandy springs, aas, city/land planning, watershed management) - MONIKA
  • Water Quality -DANIEL
  • Urban Ecology (Tree Risk) -DANIEL
  • Land Use Mapping - JEF
  • Study Sites (overall general description of the sites, including overview watershed maps, links to the site description wikipages)
  • Methods - different parameters (physical, chemical, bacterial, vegetation, remote sensing. These must be in the same order as they are linked in the site section. Note that standardizing of order applies to all aspects of this wikispace). -DANIEL
  • Results (overall results, links on #4-7 above)- JEF (Your teams will need to coordinate with Logan)
  • Conclusions (Big picture/final thoughts, Future studies etc.) - MONIKA
  • Site Sketches from M. Vest
  • Chlorophyll Analysis
  • Fish page
  • Restoration - Long Island Creek Stream restoration project on Powers Ferry Road.

These assigned sections are not up for discussion. Copy/paste jobs from the last year report are also not allowed (but you can do it if you want a zero for the whole class - plagiarism is such a yucky thing, so don't do it). Being concise is important in scientific writing, so leave flowery prose for your humanities classes. It is up to your group leaders to assign and keep up with your work/progress etc. Good luck to all. If you have issues, go up the chain of command - group leader, Logan, Dr. Pullen and finally Dr. Patterson.
